According to the BBC, (who actually put a reporter on the story) band of vigilantes grabbed the goat and took it to police, claiming that the beast was actually a robber who had used black magic to change his shape and escape. There has been no follow-up that I can find about the fate of the suspect, although an intrepid BBC desk staffer did learn that the police had intended to hold the goat "in case its owner claimed it."
We can rest assured, though, that anything a goat says ca-a-an be used against him in a court of straw.
